Thanks for a Successful Walk!Picture of the Starting Tape Cut3rd Annual Wayne WalkathonMessage From Co-Chairs: Kathryn & Gerry Voit Please join us in supporting the Greater Philadelphia Walk to D'Feet ALStm. We expect over 1,500 walkers to participate in a three-mile walk at the Valley Forge Military Academy. We are involved because Kathryn has ALS, we are Board Members, and we co-chair the Walk Committee. Last year’s event, our second in the Philadelphia area, raised almost $200,000 on a crisp and sunny day. Part of our success was due to generous help from people like you. This year our goal is to raise over $225,000 for research and patient services. The ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter, serves persons with ALS, and their caregivers, who live in the Eastern half of Pennsylvania, Central and Southern New Jersey and Delaware. Once again we are planning a spirited day. As with last year, we are expecting to be sent off on the Walk by a trumpet fanfare, the VFMA band, and a mounted equestrian team. There will be lots of activities on the parade grounds before and after the Walk. Please consider becoming a sponsor, walker, or donor this year. Ask others you know to help as well. Walkers raising $75 or more will receive a Walk to D'Feet ALS t-shirt. Through this event, our goals are to give hope through improved awareness of ALS and raising much-needed funds for local patients, services, and programs, as well as nationally directed research.
